AGC is a respected and influential organization at the federal, state and local levels of government. AGC of America is recognized as the most influential construction trade association in America.

AGC Nebraska Chapter is the voice of the Construction Industry in Nebraska. AGC leads the efforts to protect and promote the Highway Trust Fund. We have a proven track record of successfully addressing issues and building alliances to serve the construction industry.

- In 2006, AGC led the effort to increase road construction funding by $25 million per year.

- In 2007, AGC led the effort to successfully repeal the sales tax on construction labor.

- Also in 2007, AGC led the coalition to increase road construction funding by $10 million per year.

- In 2008, AGC led the effort to provide $15 million in roads funding from the state's cash reserve, allowing lawmakers to avoid any fuel tax increase while providing the match funds needed for approximately $75 million in federal highway funds.

- In 2009, AGC was instrumental in withstanding the attempt to rid the statutes of Nebraska's unique variable gas tax.

At the National Level:

AGC of America has led the way in working to reduce needless red tape and reporting requirements for contractors by leading the charge for federal contracting reforms, eliminating social security requirements on Davis-Bacon reports, creating a roundtable to address problems with the federal disadvantaged business highway contracting program and streamlining E-Verify reporting rules.
